Horse Show Fun

Jesse and I spent this past weekend in Perry, GA at the SUPER huge fairgrounds for Central Georgia Ranch Horse assocoiations first Ranch horse show. We had a blast as expected, and worked hard too. Since I have instructions from my midwife NOT to ride horses I laid low and didnt compete, however you know I had to bring shooter and ride a little bit. I have been the curator of thier website and Jesse was this weekends announcer, and he did great (of course!) we ALL know Jesse is good at talking to people! Thats a God given attribute I am most assured. So we took pictures, announced, helped keep the show running as smooth as possible and did alittle riding! I always have the best time anytime I get to be around horses, even though we missed our church family back at home. We did however have a sunday service in Perry which was edifying and God honoring, nice to see that when your away. anyways ill stop rambling here are afew pics :)

My absolute Favorite of the whole show! Mr Curtis is 75 years old and one of the most humble and godly men in all of the cowboy world that I know. I was so impressed by his sweet nature and quiet demeanor, if you dont ask he wont tell. The mare he rode was as incredible and had never even seen a cow before he brought her to this show! She was a brood mare since the age of 3 and he broke her as an older mare and brought her here! I wish that I could call him Grandpa! :) His humility was inspiring to me, and the fact that he loved the Lord meant it was real. God bless him.

Its a......Godly Blessing!

Well, I come to you humbled and filled with warm fuzzies...

We can proudly announce that God has blessed us with life! As if breathing life into our dead sinful souls wasnt good enough, He has breathed life into an unborn soul that he is placing in our care. What a blessing! We have been praying for God to bless us with a child and he answered many prayers. so...WHOOHOOO....

Out with the old and in with the NEW!

Well, as some of you MAY know, I am notorious for horse trading! My latest equine endevour landed me with this Blonde boy, "Silkie's Gold Legend"(previously named) is a 10 yr old AQHA Palomino gelding with quite a story. He was formerly ridden and showed in reining then sold to the University of TN for their Equestrian Team and then was bought by the Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge TN where he resided for 4 years doing daily shows for adoring fans( ok im boasting a bit, it wasnt that great im sure ). From there he is still wondering how he ended up in this south GA pasture! Anyways, We love him and are so glad to have him here! We are still looking for a good barn name so any suggestions would help!! ( i prefer confederate related names of course ;) ) With all that being said, my God is an amazing God for blessing us the way he has, allowing us to enjoy such beautiful and athletic animals is quite gracious considering!

***This is him at the Dixie Stampede in TN***

aint he cute :)

That red Clay is some sticky stuff!

look at that sweet face!

Isnt God Good?!?

pretty normal for us it seems

Had to write up about our killin's lately, although i only have pics for this one...God is soooo GOOD! we have so much meat in our freezer we had to get another freezer to hold it all! We have a good plenty of beef and pork to last us for a while, Thank the lord for Jess that he can render any and all animals we have to have butchered. Bill the longhorn Bull was notorious for escaping the pasture fence by way of flying ;) and as it were, it was the reason for his demise! Now he rests peacefully in our freezer. As for this 296 lb beauty, God provided us with free meat for months to come. Jess' Best friend Robert Farms some thousand acres near by and makes his nightly rounds protecting his crops from invaders with his Assult Rifle equipped with nothing other than an incredible night vision scope. We are pretty sure someone is missing their 4-H Hog! ;)
